TWO GOLF COURSES, A FAMILY GHOST, an award-winning restaurant, top-flight leisure facilities and a traditionally warm Scottish welcome, make Dalmahoy House one of Edinburgh's most sought-after hotels.Seven miles west of the Scottish capital, with views across a thousand acres of woodland estates towards Edinburgh Castle, Dalmahoy is a Georgian mansion that has been extending hospitality to visitors since the eighteenth century.The hotel's status as a premier golfing venue is evident from the moment you approach the old house through the manicured fairways of its two fine courses. Set against a backdrop of wooded countryside, interspersed with lakes and streams, the West Course presents two spectacular crossings of the Gogar Burn, while the East Course offers the chance to match your game against that of champions. For, this is the course that regularly hosts the Scottish PGA Championship. The Solheim Cup was staged here as well in 1972. In 1998, 1999 and 2000, the East Course at Dalmahoy was also the setting for the PGA Scottish Series Open.
